What is a Kodi add-on? These are added features, not unlike tv channels, nested within the Repositories that enhance the Kodi Media Centre. Typically each add-on offers a wide range of content from live television to Movies, Documentaries and TV Programs past and present. You can even learn a language (visit Phoenix->One242415->Languages 101). Add-ons do not come bundled with the Kodi Media Centre. They must be added via a Repository (see my Repository page for a brief description including how to guides). Add-ons are created by the many developers within the Kodi community, most of whom do not earn a living, let alone any money from providing their services. It’s strictly volunteer. Some are created by members of Team Kodi, while others are created by what is often referred to as 3rd Party vendors. Some are legal, some are less so. New users should be aware of this before installing some of the Repositories and add-ons. These add-ons scrape content from various web sites which host the movie and television content you’re streaming. I don’t recommend you download movies, music or tv shows. As far as streaming content from some of these 3rd party vendors, let your own moral compass be your guide.
***Nov. 6/16*** Updated. Exodus is once again the leader of the pack for the latest and greatest.
The Fusion/TVAddons Repository had a major announcement this morning. From Genesis fame, Lambda is back and has brought us a new add-on titled EXODUS. This add-on promises users an alternative to what is perhaps, the most popular add-on in Kodi. With lots of developers competing for the traffic Genesis garners, this offering from Lambda should warrant our attention. With the Spring TV release shifting into full swing, this offering could not have come at a better time. Click on the link for my EXODUS install tutorial.

Looking for another add-on that offers a comprehensive list of up-to-date movies and television shows? The Universal Movie Provider or UMP for short, is a multi-scraper add-on offering content similar to what you would find in Exodus or Velocity with a unique twist; you the user will select the web index (ie. IMDB, TVDB, Rotten Tomatoes) as the source information for your titles. I know, it sounds goofy! Just Click on the link for my UMP Add-on installation tutorial and I will show you what I mean. Please note, the streams featured in this add-on are not authorized by the copyright holder(s).
Torrent streaming is not new to Kodi however, the Quasar Add-on is, replacing the now defunct Pulsar add-on utilizing this method of streaming. I’m not going to pretend I’m super familiar with it but as a reformed down-loader, I understand the principals behind it. What Quasar does is to use outside resources such as Trakt, TVDB and IMDB to gather information about your favourite movie and television shows. It then uses a search engine to seek out torrents using what it calls “providers” to connect with different torrents without actually going onto the torrent websites. Quasar funnels the torrents through its add-on where users will share streams with other users in a pear-to-peer bases, much like you would if you were seeding downloaded content. Yes, when you stream the content, you seed it as well. When you search for movies or shows, the search engine in Quasar will establish a number of providers available. You then select a provider from the torrent network. The provider will list the number of available seeds and peers for the best possible stream and ranks them by quality. As mentioned, you connect on a peer-to-peer basis so this is designed for optimized speed and quality. Click on the link to view my install tutorial

One24215 is an add-on that comes care of Phoenix. With all the changes that have taken place with Phoenix>, this add-on has remained constant and I LOVE this. In my opinion, it’s what all developers creating add-ons should aspire to create. It literally has everything! This add-on requires the Fusion/TVAddons Repository. You can install by following the link to my tutorial provided. Without further delay, CLICK ON THE LINK to get into this tutorial and enjoy this rabbit hole!
Velocity from Blazetamer is part of the Fusion/TVAddons Repository and will be required to install this add-on. Velocity is an often overlooked add-on when in the company of EXODUS however, in my opinion it’s very underrated. Much like EXODUS and SPECTO it features all the latest in movies and television shows. And, much like EXODUS, users can configure their Trakt.tv Account to it. Please see my How To Tutorial regarding How to set up and sync your Trakt.tv Account to Kodi. Without further delay, let’s get into the install tutorial for Velocity
TV Mix was just recently brought to my attention while surfing the many many Kodi blogs. This add-on comes to us care of MetalKettle, and is part of the Fusion/TVAddons Repository. This add-on is strictly for new television shows/series only and by new series I mean, go ahead and look for Lost, Soprano’s, etc. but don’t expect to find Gilligan’s Island (know what I mean?). In keeping with another recurring theme in this post, no it doesn’t have authorization from the copyright holders to stream content. Nor does it have some of the customizable settings that you might find in some of the other add-on settings menus. However, this stripped down add-on is straight forward and so far, very reliable. Users can search by Latest Episodes, Most Watched Today, New Series, Popular Series, Genres and custom search. Another thing I like about this add-on, the suggestion lists offers shows you might not see listed in other add-on tv menus. For example, under New Series, users will see the usual suspects, Vinyl, Billions, 11.22.63 etc. but it has other less obvious suggestions as well like Diesel Brothers, Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life, Trapped, Badlands Texas, etc. For tv junkies like me, this is well worth you time. As mentioned, it comes bundled with the Fusion/TVAddons Repository and to install it, from your Home screen select System->Add-ons->Install from Repository->MetaleKettles Add-on Repository->Video Add-ons->TV Mix->Install.
alluc is another great add-on for the latest movies and television shows. It features lots of links with 1080p content and is a great go-to if you’re looking for another alternative to Exodus or Specto. Alluc is part of the Fusion/TVAddons Repository family and will be required if you wish to install this add-on. This add-on will be installed automatically if you choose the Hub Wizard. Alternatively, CLICK ON THIS LINK and I will walk you through the set up. ***Please note, this tutorial is based on Kodi Krypton v17 set up
The Royal We
The Royal We is a somewhat overlooked Kodi Add-on that comes bundled with the SuperRepo Repository. Like the other add-ons in this list, it’s a great resource for the latest movies and television shows and like the other add-ons in this list, it doesn’t have authorization from the copyright holders to stream the content. Just be aware…which I’m sure by now you are. Similar to SALTS, there is a great deal of customization users can take advantage of in the add-on settings menu to configure your account. Users can add their Trakt, Alluc, Furk.net and Ororo.tv account. Users can also Enable/Disable Scrapers (Kodi auto collects metadata information and artwork for the various thumbnailsposter/cover/fanart used in association with the Music, Videos, Movies, and TV Shows). All of which helps to improve performance, search and usability for this add-on
Last but not least, 1 Channel. It too has been around for a while and is a very reliable source for the latest television shows and movies. It has similar functionality to SALTS and works best with a Debrid account (this is a premium pay service that will minimize buffering and produce the highest quality video streams). However, if you don’t have one it’s not a big deal. You can still use the add-on and you will likely have problem finding what your looking for. Again, and it almost goes without saying, this add-on features tv and movie streams that are not authorized by the copyright holder.
For users looking for something a little off the beaten path, UKTurks Playlist deserves your attention. As with Phoenix, UK Turks Playlist offers users so much more than just the latest and greatest movies and television shows. There are links for live tv from around the globe, access to live sports channels, Health and Fitness, Music, international movies and television shows, cartoons, documentaries, concerts and everything is categorized and sub-categorized. There’s plenty here for the kids however, parents who choose to include this add-on (UK Turks Playlist is part of the Fusion/TVAddons Repository) should take note there is adult content available which can be passlock protected within the add-on settings.
The Config Wizard is a great little addition to the Fusion/TVAddons Repository. As mentioned on the Fusion Repository page, with this one add-on users get to take advantage of all the most popular add-ons associated with the Fusion/TVAddons Repository in one simple install. Not to mention, it provides users with an easy to use maintenance tool that simplifies things like adding/deleting add-ons, clearing cache, setting cache to zero, etc. Click on the Config Wizard logo for a step-by-step guide to installing the Config Wizard addon.
Having Buffering issues? Users should bear in mind there are a number of issues associated to buffering. It could be your internet speed, accessing Kodi via wifi connection vs Ethernet, the bandwidth of the hosts providing the streams, the number of users currently attempting to access the same data, etc. If buffering is ruining your Kodi experience, try installing the Easy Advanced Settings add-on. With this add-on, users can manually adjust their cache size (the temporary data) so your Kodi media centre can process the data faster, therefore minimizing some of the buffering issues you may be experiencing. It will not eliminate the issue altogether however, it should serve to improve your Kodi experience. If you have installed the SuperRepo Repository, the add-on is already on your system just waiting for you to install it. If not, click on the SuperRepo link to navigate to my tutorial on how to install SuperRepo. For the rest of you, click on the EAS Logo to get started.
The Maintenance Tool is a useful add-on that simplifies tasks such as adding/deleting add-ons, adding/deleting Repositories, accessing log files, clearing log files, clearing cache, setting cache to zero, enabling parental control, adding custom wallpaper to your backgrounds, News & Announcements from Fusion/TVAddons, even instructional “How To” videos for Kodi. Here’s a step-by-step guide to installing the Config Wizard addon;
The BBC iPlayer add-on for Kodi is an authorized add-on from the BBC and of note, one of the first major broadcasters to get on board with the Kodi Community. This add-on comes bundled with both Fusion/TVAddons and SuperRepo Repositories however, as an official add-on it is native to the Kodi Add-on Repository as well. If you’re a fan of the BBC click on the link for my BBC iPlayer install tutorial.
The Music Box add-on has thus far proven to be a solid install. I’ve been testing it for a few months now on both a windows and Android platform with the latest Jarvis release. The add-on is available via the SuperRepo Repository however, it’s not maintained by them and therefore it’s recommended users install direct from the developer repository (Techdealer). What’s more, this add-on will require users to register a VK account . Click on the link to navigate to my install tutorial
Spotify is perhaps the best service available for streaming music online. Fortunately for Kodi users, the add-on is available via the SuperRepo Repository. Users should note, this add-on will require users to register a Spotify Premium Account to utilize it. Further, this add-on uses SPOTIFY(R) CORE in order to run on Kodi. This is not endorsed, certifyied or approved in anyway by the spotify group. If you have the SuperRepo Repository installed, than let’s not waste any more time. Click on the link to navigate to my install tutorial
Vevo is a great add-on for streaming some of your favourite videos. If you’re at all familiar with this service, the Vevo Kodi Add-on can provide some great background music for your next party, not to mention some cool visuals for your big screen. This add-on is available via the SuperRepo Repository. In order for you to proceed with this tutorial, you will need to have the SR Repository installed. Once that’s out of the way, click on the link to navigate to my install tutorial
F4M Tester is another add-on the Fusion/TVAddons Repository family and is required if you wish to install this add-on. F4M Tester comes is part of Shani’s add-on package. Without further delay, CLICK HERE and I will walk you through the set up.

Watch Over Here is another great add-on for the latest movies and television shows. It features lots of links with 1080p content and is a great go-to if you’re looking for another alternative to Exodus or Specto. Watch Over Here is part of the Xfinity/Xunitys Repository family and will be required if you wish to install this add-on. Without further delay, CLICK ON THIS LINK and let’s get into this tutorial.

1080p Movies is another great add-on from the Xfinity/Xunitys Repository family and in particular, DandyMedia. It features lots of links with 1080p content and is a great go-to if you’re looking for another alternative to Exodus or Specto. The two aforementioned add-ons have been taking some abuse online of late as much of their advertised 1080p content is actually 720p. Personally, that’s just splitting hairs when we’re talking about free television and movies. Exodus is still the king of add-ons and I for one truly appreciate what Lambda puts out. I think DandyMedia deserves some attention here as well since there are some great add-ons within that repo, 1080p Movies being one of them. As mentioned, 1080p Movies is part of the Xfinity/Xunitys Repository family and will be required if you wish to install this add-on. Without further delay, CLICK HERE and let’s get into this tutorial.
TV Times is another great add-on from the Xfinity/Xunitys Repository family and DandyMedia. It features lots of Movies and Television content new and old. As mentioned, TV Times is part of the Xfinity/Xunitys Repository family and will be required if you wish to install this add-on. Without further delay, CLICK ON THE LINKlet’s get into this tutorial.
