NaN Scrapers

Let’s talk NaN Scrapers for a minute. What is it? How does it work? What add-ons use it and how do I configure it? For starters, NaN Scrapers was developed by the people over at noobsandnerds. A scraper is that bit of code that add-ons use to access the websites which host the movie or television content you’re trying to watch. As I’m sure most of you Kodi users are aware, Kodi uses an open source library of code, meaning it’s publicly accessible enabling coders from all over the world to use and contribute to it. This promotes progress and collaboration within the community. There was a time within the Kodi community, where add-ons were the sole responsibility of 1 or a small group of developers to maintain. This is way too big a task when you have thousands, and in some cases, millions of people around the world accessing your bit of code to watch their favorite television show or movie. It’s a full-time job in fact with very little in the way of compensation, and a whole lot of social media shaming when things go sideways. One of the ways to combat this, open source coding. This includes the scrapers used to access the websites hosting the media content you’re after. The developers at noobsandnerds created the NaN Scrapers in hopes the entire Kodi developer community will access, use and improve upon it when used within their add-ons and builds. Some of the add-ons that use NaN Scrapers are;

  • Bob Unleashed
  • Neptune Rising
  • Elysium
  • Covenant
  • Supremacy
  • Gurzil
  • ReBirth
  • Genesis Reborn
  • Project M
  • Midian
  • Eyasses
  • Cerebro

and this list keeps growing daily. This tutorial is going to show you how to configure NaN scrapers and once you do this, the steps will be the same for every add-on that utilizes it. Trust me, in time and through repetition, you will get the hang of it. Let’s proceed

It’s free and it will make use of add-ons such as Covenant, Bob Unleashed, Gurzil, and any other add-on that offers the account, that much more enjoyable. Make sure the account is Enabled. Set Max Results for Search: to 20. Then, enter your Username and Password in the fields provided.
