The f4mTester is proxy add-on that is required/used by many of the current live sports streams. As I understand it, this proxy add-on is a file extension called f4m and contains a lot of data outside of what kodi typically handles. These files contain xml code and extra meta data that helps Kodi play streams that might have different bitrates or varying video and audio tracks (remember, Kodi for the most part is just a really fancy media player). This is a behind the scenes add-on for you to install and forget. This add-on comes courtesy of Shani via KIG Repo. Without further delay, let’s install this add-on.
Install KIG Repo
From your home screen select;
- Add-ons (menu to the left of your screen)
Once in your Add-ons Browser, select;
- The Box Icon (top left corner)
- Install from repository
Scroll down and select
- Kodil Repository (Kodi Israel Group)
- Video add-ons
From here scroll down and select
Once you select the add-on you wish to install, the install window will open. Select the Install icon in the bottom right corner of your screen
Note: If your install is successful, you will receive an add-on enabled/update in the top right corner of your screen. Be patient, this may take a minute or two
Once you completed Step 12, navigate back to your Add-ons Browser window and select
- Video Add-ons
Look for the Video Add-ons icon for f4mTester. As mentioned, this is a behind the scenes add-on. Best to just forget it’s there and enjoy your live sports events.
I hope this was helpful. All the best!
